Amherst College is a private coeducational liberal arts college that is situated in the vicinity of Amherst, Massachusetts. It is an undergraduate four year institution, with a ranking of second best out of all US liberal arts colleges by the U.S. News and World Report and thirteenth out of all colleges by Forbes.

It was founded in 1821 when an attempt was being made to relocate Williams College, making it the third oldest institution of higher education in Massachusetts.

Offering extensive courses in Theatre and Dance, Amherst College has had close ties with other institutions such as Wesleyan University and is a member of the Five College Consortium. Tuition ranges from $65,682 to $68,132 per annum.

Amherst College is known as ‘The Singing College’ and has quite a few Acapella groups including Route 9 and the Bluestockings. This college is widely regarded as one of the nation’s best when it comes to facilitation liberal arts. Over 1800 students from nearly every state and other locations in more than 40 countries are accepted in the institution.
