The mission of the Theater Department at Mason Gross School of the Arts is to provide aspiring theater professional with a unique experience including intensive studio classes, innovative academic curricula and ground-breaking productions.
Rutgers’ close proximity to New York City is one of the programs greatest assets and plays an important role in making the profession extremely accessible. In addition, enrolled students are minutes away from a wide variety of exciting theater and other cultural activities, as well as internships and collaborations.
A well-rounded artist is one with a solid foundation and global perspective. To this end, Rutgers’ students have international opportunities which include a one-of-a-kind a residency for actors and designers at Shakespeare’s Globe in London.
All applicants must submit a formal application to the Mason Gross School of the Arts and pay the fee through Rutgers University. The cost per semester does not normally exceed $2,500.
