The Atlantic Acting School, founded in 1987, operates as a private conservatory as well as an undergraduate program in conjunction with the Tisch School of the Arts at the New York University. The school focuses on the Practical Aesthetics Acting Technique.
AAS is ideal for students who are interested in earning their certificate in acting. Tuition is approximately $14,00 a year and the school is located at 76 9th Avenue in New York.
When applying for the courses prospective students are required to submit letters of recommendation, a recent headshot, resume and a $40 fee that is non-refundable. Among the distinguished lecturers are individuals such as Kate Winslet, Howard Korder, Margo Jefferson and Gabriel Byrne. The Atlantic Acting School has a curriculum that prepares students for all aspects of a successful performing arts career.
Several companies have surfaced from the group of well taught past students that the school has produced over the years, namely The Common Tongue, Mobius Group Productions, Bar Hoppers and EBE Ensemble to name a few.
